Bank of America is giving bank cardholders free admission to some of the most exciting cultural venues nationwide.

Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2  Bank of America will offer cardholders free access to more than 150 cultural institutions in 91 cities across the United States.

On Saturday, November 17 at 7pm in front of the State House in Columbia, Palmetto Transgender Association, along with SC Equality and the Harriet Hancock LGBT Center will be holding a candlelight reading of the names of those killed world-wide by trans-phobic violence the previous 12 months.


Scheduled speakers include: Ryan Wilson, Executive Director of SC Equality; Lester Franzen, President of the Board, Harriet Hancock LGBT Center; Amy Garbati of Charleston Area Transgender Support, and Rev. Tiffany Adams.

South Carolina’s 2012 Peanut Crop Shows Promise for Future Growth

 

This year South Carolina peanut farmers planted a record 105,000 acres of peanuts.  Ten years ago that number was just 10,000 acres. The increase is keeping inspectors and crews busy at the nine drying and buying stations across the state. On average, this year’s peanut crop is yielding nearly two tons to the acre.
