According to a recent study done by Thumbtack.com, the Midlands is rated as the easiest place to start a small business.

The Thumbtack.com Small Business Survey drew data from an extensive, nationwide universe of job creators and entrepreneurs themselves in order to investigate the best places in the country to do business.

 “After a two-month survey of over 6,000 small business owners nationwide, South Carolina comes out on top as one of the nation's best states to do business,” said Sander Daniels, co-founder of Thumbtack.com.

Sumter, S.C.– The city of Sumter will celebrate its 100th anniversary of the council-management form of government at 10 a.m. Wednesday April 25 at the Opera House in Sumter.

The event is sponsored by the South Carolina City and County Management Association (SCCCMA) and the International City/County Management Association (ICMA).
