Bank of America is offering its customers a way to celebrate the start of summer with Museums on Us, giving bank cardholders free admission to some of the most exciting cultural venues nationwide, including Rhode Island’s Newport Art Museum, San Diego’s Birch Aquarium at Scripps and Long Island’s Old Westbury Gardens. As part of Museums on Us, more than 150 leading U.S. cultural institutions, in 91 cities across the country, open their doors to bank cardholders on the first full weekend of each month.

Sumter celebrates 100th anniversary of council-manager form of government

Sumter, S.C.– The city of Sumter will celebrate its 100th anniversary of the council-management form of government at 10 a.m. Wednesday April 25 at the Opera House in Sumter.

The event is sponsored by the South Carolina City and County Management Association (SCCCMA) and the International City/County Management Association (ICMA).

Walmart is giving away $2 million to fight hunger in cities hardest hit by the economy, including three communities in Harvest Hope Food Bank’s service area. Harvest Hope encourages everyone to vote for the communities in their service area that need it most.
