1st Annual 302 Artisans’ Invitational BBQ Cook Off | Community Spirit

Things are going to heat up at the only country store located inside downtown Columbia during the Smoke on the Water ‘Neath the Bridge: First annual 302 Artisans’ Invitational BBQ Cook off September 21 - 22, 2012.

302 Artisans at Senate’s End brings the best Certified SC Grown products and produce together in a relaxing general store atmosphere, but the competition is going to speed the pace up for the BBQ cook off.

Twenty-two teams from across South Carolina will compete during the event.  To create the best wings and barbecue, the teams will be using seasonings, sauces and rubs from 302 Artisans’ supply of South Carolina Specialty Food Association (SCSFA) products.

The first challenge comes Friday at 6 p.m. when the teams battle it out in the “Wing Fling”.  Whole Foods is donating wings for the competition. 

Each team will also see who can cook the best Boston Butt.  BBQ tasting and judging will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. until 1p.m. and crowds can enjoy music and family fun activities. Admission is just $5 for adults and $2 for children.

302 Artisans is the first exclusive SC Specialty Food Association store in the state. All food and beverage items sold are products of SCSFA members.
