71-year-old woman beaten, robbed of $12K | Crime

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is searching for three suspects they say robbed and beat a 71-year-old woman.

The report said the victim heard someone outside on her front porch and went to her window to see what was going on.

While at the window, the woman saw a shadow and asked who was there.  All of a sudden, the woman’s door flew open and three suspects entered the home, according to sheriff’s deputies.

The report said one of the suspects hit the woman in the head with a rifle. The victim stated she heard two gunshots inside her residence.

Deputies say the suspects kept asking the woman “Where’s the money, tell me where the money is or I’ll kill you?”

According to sheriff’s deputies, the woman told the men where the money was and one of them went and got the cash from the bedroom.

The suspects fled the scene on foot with $12,000.

The report said a neighbor saw three men running from the woman’s home.

Deputies describe the suspects as three black males, wearing dark clothing and hoodies on their heads.

According to the report, the victim is the manager of the mobile home park where the incident happened.
