More than $2.8 million paid out in prizes over three drawings | News
In a week’s time, three South Carolina Education Lottery drawings have racked up more than $2.8 million in winnings for numbers players, that’s five times the Lottery’s sales for these drawings.
The lucky stretch began the evening of Sunday, July 8 when 2 – 2 – 2 – 2 was drawn for the first time by the Lottery. Those winners won anywhere from $2,500 to $5,000.
This weekend Pick 3 players capitalized. Back-to-back Pick 3 drawings, starting Saturday evening with 0 – 0 – 0 and ending Sunday evening with 1 – 2 – 3, saw an elevated number of winners taking home anywhere from $250 to $500.
Combined these three drawings produced close to four times the number of winners from the same drawings on the previous week.
Lottery retailers across the state are busy cashing winning tickets from this weekend’s Pick 3 drawings. Lottery retailers will cash winning tickets to and including $500.
Last week the Lottery’s Claims Center on Assembly Street in Columbia was packed with Pick 4 winners. Winning tickets for all three drawings can also be claimed by mailing to the address on the back of the ticket.
Players have 180 days from the date of the drawing in which to claim their prizes.
Winners should always sign the back of the ticket first to safeguard their prize.
