This week's Third Army/ARCENT Soldier of the Week is Sgt. Brittany M. Kent, Third Army/ARCENT paralegal noncommissioned officer.

Kent, a Jessup, Ga., native, joined Third Army/ARCENT in November after serving at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.

 

The mother of one will have five years of service in the U.S. Army in May, and said she is proud to be a part of the few that serve.

On February 6, LGBTQ & allied students, adults, and organizations across the country are celebrating National Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) Day. National GSA Day is a time to strengthen the bond between LGBT people and straight allies, and in particular recognize and honor student organizations called Gay-Straight Alliances. These student-led groups work to educate their peers to stop homophobia, transphobia, and bullying in schools and colleges throughout the country.

On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks was arrested in Montgomery, AL, for refusing to give up her seat on a public bus to a white man. Her simple act of defiance became a symbol of courage and inspired thousands of Americans to join the Civil Rights Movement. Her work with Martin Luther King, Jr., and the NAACP has been honored with numerous accolades including the prestigious Congressional Gold Medal and Spingam Medal.

Coach Frank Martin To Participate In Third Annual Infiniti Coaches' Charity Challenge

Infiniti announced that it will once again partner with the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), the NCAA® and ESPN as the sponsor of the "Infiniti Coaches' Charity Challenge." Now in its third year, Infiniti, an official corporate partner of the NCAA, will make a $100,000 donation to the winning coach's designated charity.
