Iconic Civil War artist Mort Künstler will visit the South Carolina State Museum Saturday, Nov. 3, to present gallery talks and autograph books and other items related to his famous paintings.

Red Cross Announces New Major Gifts Officer

The American Red Cross is proud to announce Courtney Melendez as a new Major Gifts Officer for the Columbia Region, which serves 28 counties in South Carolina.

As Major Gifts Officer, Melendez will be responsible for the cultivation and stewardship of financials donors to expand the mission and services of the Red Cross within the Columbia Region.

The Renaissance Foundation will be hosting its second annual “Passing the Torch” Awards Gala. The Gala will take place on November 10, 2012 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in Columbia, South Carolina. This highly anticipated event will begin with a reception at 6 p.m. and the awards gala will follow at 7 p.m.

DMV offers veteran designation on driver licenses

The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announced today the availability of a “VETERAN” designation on driver licenses, identification cards and beginner permits for individuals who served honorably in the United States Armed Forces.

“The Governor and the Legislature joined forces to acknowledge the service of our veterans,” said Executive Director Kevin Shwedo. “Our veterans have done their part serving our country and it’s only right that we should honor them. I’m proud that we can offer this service and I hope they will take advantage of it.”

Red Cross Announces New Regional Chief Development Officer

The American Red Cross is proud to announce Adrienne Bellinger as the new Regional Chief Development Officer for the Columbia Region, which serves 28 counties in South Carolina.

As the Regional Chief Development Officer, she will develop annual and multi-year development strategies, lead a regional development team to achieve financial growth, and oversee the implementation of fundraising campaigns.
