SC “Sales Tax Holiday” set for first weekend in August

Less than a month away in South Carolina is the annual Sales Tax Holiday – the state’s popular three-day sales and use tax break on traditional back-to-school purchases.

The 13th annual Sales Tax Holiday, which was implemented in 2000, will begin Friday, August 3 at 12:01 a.m. and tax-exempt purchases can be made through Sunday, August 5 at midnight.

SC Indoor Winter Farmers Market begins Saturday

The holidays are over and the resolutions have been made. Whether it’s eating healthier, spending more time with family, or helping others, the place to begin working on these goals is at the SC State Farmers Market, 3483 Charleston Highway in West Columbia.

This coming Saturday, January 7, 2012, will be the first indoor Winter Certified SC Farmers Market of the season. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., visitors can enjoy shopping for locally grown or processed products in the warm and cozy comfort of the Corbett Building. What better way to get healthier and spend more time with the family and friends.
